I've adopted the phrase, "autonomy purist" to describe how I do care. I have been a midwife since 9/2020. I am currently licensed and have my CPM. My job is to support women during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum by listening and educating and empowering them to trust the divine design of their body and their baby's body. Building a trusting relationship is paramount to optimal care. In WA, the law does not prohibit VBAC, breech, or multiples, or gestational age of delivery. Every client I take is on a casa-by-case basis if we both decide it is a good fit. Birth is a mystery and I face what comes as it unfolds and only intervene when needed and with consent.
